For years I’ve listened to the outrageous claims made by different pepper spray brands. I never really had the scientific information to properly respond until now.
Our main supplier recently contacted an independent testing lab called CHROMTEC, LLC to test several of the major brands on the market.
They gave them the brands of 8 pepper spray, including Wildfire, and asked them to test them for hotness, which is the actual SHU (Scoville heat units) in the pepper sprays.
Wildfire led all brands tested, and tested at 242,000 SHU (Scoville heat units.) That’s a mind blowing number considering that many of the major brands tested out at under 100,000 SHU.
So if you are looking for a pepper spray that will keep your assailant away, check us out.

Now, to be fair, all the pepper sprays listed are effective. The higher
SHU is just going to put a lot of extra hurt on an attacker. It’s not necessary to stop an attacker, but it will make them pay for it.
